KUALA LUMPUR: The MATTA Fair March 2018 is expected to attract 110,000 visitors and achieve RM210mil in sales.
Malaysian Association of Tour and Travel Agents (MATTA) president Datuk Tan Kok Liang said this during his speech at the official opening ceremony of the fair at Putra World Trade Centre here Saturday.
"MATTA fair is getting bigger with 1,353 exhibition booths, 254 organisations consisting of 175 travel and tour agencies, 14 National Tourism Organisations, 14 state tourism boards and 20 hotels and resorts.
"When we first started in 1991, there were only 80 booths with 9,000 visitors," Tan added.
The three-day event, which opened on Friday (March 16), would be the biggest in its 27-year history.
The travel fair was officially launched by Tourism and Culture Ministry secretary-general Datuk Rashidi Hasbullah.
MATTA Fair will be held at PWTC until Sunday (March 18).
Open from 10am to 9pm, admission is RM4 per person daily and free for children below 12.
