3D2N Mt. Kinabalu Summit Climb

Overview

The majestic Mount Kinabalu, one of the highest mountains in South East Asia standing at 4095.2 metres located inside the world heritage site, Kinabalu National Park. To reach the summit from Timpohon Gate (Starting point), climbers will be trekking through 6 kilometers of trail composed by wooden staircase and nature trail up to Laban Rata Resthouse on 1st day and continue another 2.7 kilometers journey toward the summit on 2nd day.

The part of the summit trail was newly introduced starting December 1, which is called Ranau Trail. It is said to offer more fascinating breathtaking views along the way as we walk on the ridge.

While you do not need special skills to climb, you must at least have the basic fitness level.

Itinerary
Day 01 Kota Kinabalu - Kinabalu Park - (D)
  Meet and greet at hotel and transfer to Kinabalu Park
  Over night at Kinabalu Park or outside Park (TBA)
  Dinner
Day 02 Kinabalu PHQ / Mt Climb - Laban Rata - (B/PL/D)
0730 hrs Breakfast and collect box lunch.
0800 hrs Proceed to the Park Registration Office to register for your Mt Kinabalu summit climbs and meets your Mt Guide. Thereafter you will be transferred to Timpohon Gate (1,829m) where your climb begin to Laban Rata (3,353m). Dinner at Laban Rata Resthouse.
  Overnight at mountain hut - Hotel type (Which ever available at Mountain Hut)
  Meals: Breakfast, box lunch and dinner
Day 03 Laban Rata / Power Station / Kota Kinabalu (B/L)
0230 hrs Continue climb to the summit of Mt Kinabalu (4,095.20m)
  At Low's Peak marvel at the glorious sunrise if weather permits. Breakfast at Laban Rata Resthouse. Descend to Timpohon Gate. Pick-up from Timpohon Gate and transfer to Park Registration Office, where you can get a certificate if you have successfully conquered Mt Kinabalu. Transfer back to Kota Kinabalu or airport.

  Lunch - Kinabalu Park - Balsam Restaurant
  Note: LATEST PICK UP FROM KINABALU PARKS IS 1600 HRS. 
For those who are flying on this day, please make sure that your flight has to be after 1900 hrs. Selamat Jalan.

Notes

It is recommended that all climbers should have themselves medically checked before attempting any mountaint climb. If you have a history of suffering from the following ailments, it is highly recommended that you should refrain from climbing: Hypertension, Diabetes, Palpitation, Arthritis, Heart Disease, Severe Anemia, Peptic Ulcers, Epileptic Fits, Obesity (Overweight), Chronic Asthma, Muscular Cramps, Hepatitis (Jaundice); or any other disease which may hamper the climber.

Important Notes
  • 16 YEARS OLD AND ABOVE: One mountain guide is allowed to take maximum of five (5) climbers. Additional Mt Guide @ RM 250.00 p/guide.
  • 15 YEARS OLD AND BELOW: One mountaint guide is allowed to take maximum of two (2) climbers. Additional Mt Guide @ RM 250.00 p/guide.
    Eg: 2 Adults + 2 Children OR 2 Adults + 1 Child - will require 2 separate mountain guides.
  • Climbers who reached Timpohon Gate after 1600 hrs, a fee of RM 15.00 per hour/guide is chargeable and to be paid directly to the mountain guide on the spot.
  • Water at Laban Rata is not treated. For safe drinking water, bottled water is available for sale at Laban Rata shop.
  • Check in time at Laban Rata is 1300 hrs and check out time is 1030 hrs the following day.
  • An additional charge of RM 100.00 per hour will be imposed for any check out later than 1030 hrs.
  • Total climbers to Mount Kinabalu in a day are 135 px; an allocation divided between the Sabah Parks, Sutera Sanctuary Lodges and Mountain Torq.
